Sprint Overdrive Issues w/ iPod/iPhone/WiFi

3GStore.com sources at Sierra Wireless have recently confirmed the issues where iPod,iPhone & WiFi issues when using the Sprint Overdrive are known issues...

It has been a common problem that appears to be related to the wireless chipsets in multiple notebooks and devices of a mobile nature. It has also been confirmed that Sierra Wireless will be getting new product firmware to address these issues in greater detail this week. We can only hope that the approval process is just as expedient for I know there are alot of iPod and iPhone users out there that would like to take advantage of the 3G/4G speeds that the Sprint network has to offer!

Keep watching this thread for more development on the topic. We will post more information as it becomes available.

Victor has been doing an incredible job (even off clock), documenting the issues and duplicating the problems.

Luckily we have a ton of contacts at different carriers, manufacturers and other places and we can get to the bottom of issues much quicker.

I am sure that we will be the first to report that the problem is solved, so watch (or subscribe to) this thread for more information over the coming days.

We have had our tech department devoting A LOT of time trying to get all these issues resolved. Nothing that we can report yet, as we are still working with Sierra to try to get resolution on some of the issues (that others) and what our techs have found.

Thanks for all the hard work you guys are putting in. Have any plans been talked about to make the Overdrive work with the Cradlepoint routers?

Sierra has released firmware version 1.07 that improves performance with the iTouch devices.

Key Performance Enhancements:

* Improved Wi-Fi operation and throughput – especially for "power-save" clients: e.g., Windows XP (without changing Power Save setting), iPhone and iTouch.
* Auto Update enhancements to improve download reliability over 3G Wi-Fi connection; Wi-Fi driver workarounds on handling unexpected freezes or crashes.
* Fix for when device stays in offline after upgrade.
