just got my sprint bill. it still shows me to have an unlimited plan.
went to sprint.com and accessed my account and it also still shows me to have an unlimited plan.

it shows my usage from 7-06-08 thru 7-26-08 to be less than a gig.

i actually downloaded 11.79 gig during that time period according to dumeter.

oh well Smile

Believe me, you can cancel without an ETF within 30 days of when the cap was implemented. Depending on who you talk with at Sprint they might give you a bit of a hard time but you can cancel without an ETF. I had to be put on hold twice while trying to convince the Sprint rep that the 5GB cap did apply to me but she eventually gave in and cancelled the contract without an ETF.

OK.... I just fell into this info by accident late last night, so excuse me for coming in late. Very Happy

Below is a bit from a post I made in another thread - but it hinges on what you're asking. And I'd like to know if everyone else's bills are showing the same.

When I go to mysprint.com, the overview for my account still shows "unlimited", and when I go into "usage details" it still shows "unlimited" in the "remaining" column, with my billing starting over again tomorrow.

Now, after reading through my PDF bills, the only place I see a little red flag popping up is on my page 4 (last page of my bill) - under Subscriber Activity Detail --> Data Services Usage Detail, which now has a number in the "Less KB/Events in Plan column (formerly blank on the previous bills).

The number in the "used" was munged with the number in the "in plan" columns.. so I can't be 100% sure what is allowed - or by how much I went over. But in any event, I'm sure I'm over - way over. Rolling Eyes

Is everyone else's bill looking about the same? As in "unlimited" in two places but that last page has a number in the "Less KB/Events in Plan" column?

everyone's is saying unlimited. That don't make it so. This page should be somewhere in your May or June bill:

I've been through my PDF bills with a fine tooth comb - and I didn't get that notice - at least yet.

I use my EVDO card as my sole connection - and I know I go waaaaaaaaaay over the 5 gig.

But maybe I'm not getting noticed because 1) my account is billed corporately, 2) I live in an area where Cricket is launching broadband, 3) I don't roam ... or 4) all of the above. Laughing

Then you are free to stream away. Based on the relevant provisions of the T&Cs, Sprint must give you notice of material changes to the T&Cs and give you 30 days to resign without an ETF before applying the new provisions.

You sure you didn't divide Sprint's KB numbers by 1024 one too many times?!?!?

Just checked my numbers:

Sprint: 3.9 gig
SurplusMeter: 1.8 gig

with 25 more days to go in my billing cycle.

There ain't no way that I can keep her under 5 gig a month.

Anyone that downloads songs, loves youtube or hulu is gonna be toast.

Yeah but get a hand held phone, you get no limits. Stream all the music and SprintTV you want. Go figure. Us computer users are being forced to limit ourselves to 1994-style static web pages so a bunch of teenagers can run Pandora on their flip phones or watch the Olympics on their Instincts.

Wayne, though I subscribe to Data Pack Basic on my Sanyo 8400, I haven't kept up with the cellphone software capabilities because it seems reception for video is usually spotty; particularly in the late afternoons and on weekends. Haven't used PAM in 3 years. The PAM speeds never seemed as good and data card speeds.

What are Pandora and Instincts?

Do you find you can stream video steadily with your cellphone?

I was talking about the Samsung Instinct with Sprint TV, and how fundamentally unfair it was that these phone users can have an unlimited pipe when we cannot. Personally, my phone doesn't have any other capability than making calls and a couple of java games, but after seeing some of my relatives' PDA's you can't tell me they aren't using less than 5 gigs per month. Pandora is a streaming radio app, btw. you can check it out on your computer, at http://pandora.com/ but don't do it on your data card or you will get spanked by the Sprint police. Oh but on your phone, feel free to use it all you want.
