Received my Verizon UM150 yesterday and gave it a test run. Verizons coverage maps shows us in a large coverage area of dark blue. After 2 hours I gave up. With an outside antenna the signal bounced from zero to 4 lights. At 4 lights I had speeds of about 950 down and 128 up. Any thing under 4 lights it was close to dial up speed or worst. I have already called and cancelled the service and now waiting on the Fedex to pick it up for return. I guess if they work it's great, but in my case it didn't.

I think you gave up too easily unless you are strapped for cash because all this equipment is expensive.

I'm not sure what the strapped for cash has to do with it. Either it works or it doesn't. I'm not one to spend days & hours on the phone to tech support trying to make their stuff work. I take it out of the box and it doesn't work I'm on to the next company and their's might just work.

I'd bet an amp from the 3g store would make your signal more stable.I had the same problem as you,and the amp really boosted my signal strength.

Also, this time of the year is the worst for signal strength. The fall/winter/spring when the leaves aren't as full, and the humidity is much lower I get really good speeds. Best of luck!

P.S.You'll get a lot more help on getting a better signal on these forums than you ever will on the phone with tech support from Verizon, or Sprint.....I've learned that first hand! Laughing
