Dear Sirs! I'm using a Cisco HWIC-3G-CDMA module equipped with Sierra's MC5725. I need to send an sms from the number flashed inside it, as my CDMA-provider gives me an account info (login/password) as an answer to my outgoing sms. I've tried to use AT!SSMS command in reverse telnet session, but the problem is that module is in HDR (EVDO only) mode, so it's not able to send sms's.
In brief:how to switch between 1xRTT/HYBRID/EVDO(HDR) modes using terminal commands, without GUI like Watcher? Thank You!

Doing any of the above will not solve your SMS issue. While you are in an active PDP context, you cannot use the AT interface. So you have two choices. Suspend the PDP session, send your SMS, then reestablish... Or figure out their secondary interface. CnS I believe it is called, but I am not sure.
What befuddles me is why this limitation exists on the the CDMA/1x cards but not the GSM/HSDPA cards.
