I have the Alltel Hue and am having problems with the signal. I can't measure it in the RSSI because I have a connection to my phone using Bluetooth. On average, I get one bar. what will happen is I will be able to connect and then the signal will spike and then drop me. The time it takes varies, I had it stay on for a total of 7 minutes at the most. I'd love to use this for downloads, movies, and online games instead of my horrible dial up, but the dropping causes so many errors that all of those are impossible. Sorry if I am being vague, I just really want this to work since it is my last option for high speed internet. By the way, I live in an area classified by Alltel as good(or decent I can't remember) and the map shows that I could possibly receive the highest possible speeds of their connections. The nearest tower to me is about 2 miles away, but I think it is a U.S Cellular. I called Alltel about the problem and they won't help me because they are blaming the issue on my Bluetooth connection. If there is a solution that would definitely help me, kinda keep it cheap. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

You are trying to gain internet access using your phone via Bluetooth? The BT will your bottleneck as BT speeds are incredibly slow according to tethering standards compared to using a data cable. But, the one bar of strength may very well be the underlying issue.
Since I'm still practically a newbie in this area, this should be seen as skeletal until some of the more professional minds get a hold of it. |
