I've been using Verizon's EVDO network for a year and a half and love it. Started with the PC card, then went to the USB720. I just recently switched to the internal Dell card in my new laptop, and it works great under Windows. But in Linux, I can't get anything to work. It did work (barely) using the older modems, but not now.
I've been to the kenkinder page and done other searching but no matter what I do, I get an "alarm" and then it fails.
On my system, the vendor/product codes are 0x413c and 0x8133. I doublechecked this to be sure it wasn't the bluetooth device. So I ran modprobe and verified that it was tying itself to ttyUSB0.
I found a couple of posts here and tried the scripts from them, but still nothing. I just get the 'alarm' in the log and it dies.
I'm not sure what to try next....
Thanks!

The VZW USB720 is Vendor ID 0x1410 and Product ID 0x2110
Device should be /dev/usb/tts/0
In your Kernel log (dmesg) do you something like this:
kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x1410/0x2110) is not claimed by any active driver.
If so your going to have to enter the Ven/Prod ID manually. _________________ A simple man. |
