the ETF charge

I just spoke with retention yesterday as well. While I didn't necessarily want to cancel, I did not want to be on the hook for $150 if they cancel me due to overages. I also wanted assurances that I would not be charged overage fees in the future. If there were, I wanted the option to cancel before incurring charges. This is the response I received:

Finally.....after about a month

Thank you for e-mailing Sprint. I am happy to assist you with the Early
Termination Fee (ETF) for your connection card.

Your Connection Card line 7184197163 is already scheduled to be canceled
as on August 01, 2008. Since you are canceling this line because of 5GB
Cap of Sprint, you will not be charged any ETF for this line.

I assure you that you are not charged any ETF for the connection card.

My experience was similar, but it took a bit of a push to get there.
