Ok, I'm new the EVDO scene. I have some issues I'd like to get resolved, and hopefully I can get some good advice on how.
The only high speed connection I can get is Verizon EVDO, and I hate the fact that there's a 5gb limit, but that's another story...
I have the UM150 card, and most of the time I'm at one bar out of 4, occassionally 2 bars, sometimes none. I've been online the past 8 hours with no disconnects.
What I need to accomplish is to boost the signal somewhat to where I'm steadily @ 2 bars if possible.
By what I've read, I should be looking for a good evdo router, cradlepoint or whatever brand will work best for my situation.
So here I am to the point of this post, with this connection of mine, what would you all (The pros!) reccommend for me to purchase in order to accomplish the best possible scenario for my internet situation.
Thanks to All! |

| Oh and also, I would love the best reccomendation on routers used for gaming. I enjoy gaming (Ps3 and PC) and would like what works best with gaming. Thanks! |

A router isn't going to help with signal (although, using a router may allow you to put your card into a better location for signal).
What type of RSSI are you getting, see:

If you have your UM150 in a laptop, get readings from different location inside your location and also outside. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I have put my evdo card in my laptop, and just so happens where my desktop is, that is the best place as far as signal goes.
Thanks for helping me out, signal right now is -101.. I know that's not too hot...
I'm going to move it around a little and ignore the bars, and see if that number changes in different home locations.
I've also been told an external antenna, minus the booster, would help me out..
thanks for the help, and keep suggestions coming! |
