I saw the upgrade to 2.2.1 was available this morning so I updated only to come home and have no service. I've tried rebooting my card and my router only to have it show suspended for XXX seconds after it makes a connection attempt but is unable to connect. funny part is i can take the card and plug it into the desktop and it works just fine. Sounds like something's amiss in the latest firmware, anyone else concurr?

Just updated to 2.2.0 and aside from having to completely reconfigure it, I've had no problems. Do you know what bug fixes are in this latest revision?

Were you updating from 2.1.0 or 2.2.0? What kind of modem? Who is your service provider? Have you tried doing a hard factory reset? This information would be helpful. I'm running 2.2.1 just fine.

According to Cradlepoint's release notes the difference between 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 is:

Quote:
Fixed defect where “Remember Me” functionality on the “Access Granted” client_authorized.html web page would not survive a power cycle.

I was upgrading from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 . I did also notice too when i upgraded from 2.1.0 to 2.2.0 that I had to re-configure all my settings as well.
It's a sierra 595u on sprint. Yes i've tried doing a reset to factory defaults. I've even tried it with the reset button on the back of the router. It really doesn't seem to affect it.

Also if i leave it alone for a few hours (eg. overnight) It will connect at some point. It keeps trying to connect but then fails and shows on the status page that it's suspended for (xxx seconds or xx minutes & xx seconds) it goes through that for quite a while before it'll actually connect.

Were you experiancing the same problem with 2.2.0? I am guessing no, but just want to verify. If you downgrade to 2.2.0 does the problem persist or is it gone? Make sure to save off a configuration file as well, even thought it supposedly should not require it, it would be a good idea just so you don't have to reconfigure after the FW upgrade.

I've not downgraded back to 2.0.0 yet as i don't have the firmware file laying around on my mac. I do have it on my laptop but sadly that's out for warranty work with HP at the moment. So i'll probably snag it from the cradlepoint website. But for the moment i'm trying to ascertain the exact cause of the problem so i can bring it up with cradlepoint support. as it may be an issue with this firmware release.

From what i've gathered so far I think the problem has to do with QOS. When i disable that function and reboot the router seems to connect ok. But it doesn't work every time. It's definitely improved my success rate though. So i believe i'm on the right track with that. It's possible that the connection tracking module or the localized queueing module isn't operating properly.

I do appreciate all your help very much!

Sounds like you are on the right track in regards to troubleshooting. It does sound like a good idea to either call cradlepoint support or if you bought it from 3G to give thier support a call. From what I have read on this forum either place provides very good support.
