Only 105kbs help?

Hooked up an Alltel EC228 on the laptop went outside with 3 bars and I'm only getting a max of 105kbs. Any ideas?

What does it show in Alltel software...1x?

I don't know I took it back and going to try Sprint.

You really should have troubleshooted that problem a bit more before you went through the trouble of returning it.

Normally I would have worked on it longer. But here is the reason I couldn't/wouldn't. Satillite system went down, 2-3 weeks for them to come out and tell me it's the modem $400. I'm not staying with Hughesnet anyway. I'm leaving tomorrow for 3 weeks, wife and kids are home w/o internet (wife needs it for work-kids need it because they think they do). Alltel has a 15 day policy for returns. Sprint has 30 days. I can hook up the Sprint and they will have service no matter slow or fast until I get back. If it's slow I still have a week to play with it when i get back and talk with you people on how resolve my issues.
