My Omni directional antenna isn't helping; it seems to me making things worse. So my question is that if I take the ground plane spikes out from one side of the antenna, would that make the antenna work only on one direction?

The reason I ask is that I think that the Omni is picking up a signal from a non Rev-A tower. If taking the ground plane spikes off works, I could prove if that is my problem.

If I can't get a stable Rev-A signal by Monday, we are going to replace our lightning destroyed Hughesnet equipment.

I'd really like to get this working, but driving around with the Omni has shown no better signal than with just the modem, and another test with the Omni in the same spot as the modem strapped to a pole shows the Omni was worse.

Thanks to all for the help so far!
