Alltel UM150 on Vista activated but doesn't connect

I have a Toshiba laptop with Vista and an able to activate my card but I can't connect with the UM150.

I called Alltel's tech support about this issue and after troubleshooting they told me it was a Vista issue. We had previously taken the card to the Alltel store and tested it in a computer there and were able to get connected.

I don't have anything particularly weird installed. I do use this laptop for development and have Visual Studio, SQL Server and a few other tools installed, but no games or file sharing software.

I live in the boonies and am getting 2 to 3 bars on the UM150.

Any suggestions?

I had a simmilar problem. There was something wrong with my SSID. I got a new card and that fixed everything.

My wife just installed my EC228 connected to the Alltel network on her new Dell XPS m1530 Vista machine and it works flawlessly. The software installed fine and it connected right away after setup. I also live in the boonies and I have been getting fairly decent speed in my opinion.
