They offer 5GB/mo service for $40/mo, $25 1st month activation.
Has anyone had experience with their service?

I have been paying $59.99 a month for 2.5 years with Sprint. It's great service, but I had hoped the price would drop.

I wonder what the download speeds are for Cricket. Who's CDMA network are they using (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon?) They just moved into St. Louis. They are only in a handful of cities.. They offer "no background check", "free calls to Mexico". Ole' I say!

I dropped my data card line of 3 years with Sprint effective July 18, 2008 (ETF free) over there new T&C limiting usage from UNLIMITED to a 5GB with 300 meg roaming limits starting July '08. Sprint isn't planning on lowering the $59.99 plan at all. Goto www.sprint.com and read the new $59.99 plan overview. I am going with Cricket's Broadband service myself being they are cheaper. Laughing

I've noticed the Cricket ads on TV - they say "unlimited" - is it like Verizon's unlimited, then? Unlimited or 5GB, whichever is smaller?

It is cheaper tho, at $40. FOr that matter, their unlimited voice plans are cheaper than everyone else's too.

I suppose a good deal if you live where they offer service and never travel.

Oh, and on their TV ads they are promoting it as an alternative to cable/DSL - interesting since the other providers' TOS usually indicate that it is not to be used as a replacement for wired internet service (tho it is probably never enforced).

Seems to be unlimited to me.

Throughput may be limited if use exceeds 5GB per month. Internet browsing does not include: hosted computer applications, continuous web camera or broadcast, automatic data feeds, machine-to-machine connections, peer to peer (P2P) connections or other applications that denigrate network capacity or functionality.

So if you go over 5GB they wont terminate you or charge you overages, they will just slow you down until the end of the billing cycle. So it is unlimited data usage.
