|
|
Just got our Sprint Business June bill for our Unlimited Data Card plan - there was NO NOTICE of ANY impending data cap on it - 5gb or otherwise.
Just letting you know.. our business account did NOT get any notice of a future 5gb cap. |

Is there an indication on your bill that you are a business/corp account? I set up mine under our corp reseller and that changed my billing date to match the cycle the company uses, but I want to *know* that I am in the clear. Any help would be wonderful. _________________ --Larry |

If you setup your account with a Federal Tax ID (FEIN), then you are a Corporate Liable (CL) account.
If you setup your account with your Social Security Number (SSN), then you are an individual liable (IL) type account.
A FEIN looks like this: 12-3456789
A SSN looks like this: 123-45-6789
If you didn't get your account setup via 3Gstore.com, you can call Sprint customer service and ask them if you have a "Corporate Liable" or "Individual Liable" account. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

That's not always true. For example, our account was set up with an SSN due to computer problems the Sprint store was having at the time trying to set up a business account with the federal tax id at the time. When I called Sprint to verify the business account, they told me our account was in fact a business account. That is reflected on the bill we get.
BTW, I ordered the low profile Omni spring loaded antenna from 3G after I figured out that I could mount it to the roof rack of the Expedition using one of the thumb screw bolts that hold the front bar in place. I didn't order the 3 way mount (saved 10 bucks) because on that vehicle, there's no use for it. |

The tell-tale sign that Sprint can implement a cap is the field labeled "Remaining".
If its contents read "Unlimited" then Sprint won't do a calculation.
However, if the field shows a number then various calculations can be performed on it depending on implemented policy.
What boggles me are discussions about usage and caps in Gigabytes but the Sprint usage fields are formatted in Kilobytes.
Imagine if cell phone call reports were done in seconds of time! |

| I just paid my bill a few moments ago, still said unlimited. I've had Verizon for over 10 years, went with Sprint a few months ago for the unlimited mobile internet offering. Not sure what I will do if/when they change my account, since everyone is moving toward caps. |

Right - I signed up under (Employee Discount) with my SSN, then switched to my company's Node right away (which changed the billing date), and Sprint says I'm corporate.
My online bill is still showing last month's though - May 04, even though this month's payment due popped up on Saturday. |

| How do I switch my account over? I've been on the phone with Sprint for over a half hour now and have been transferred to and from the business division and no one seems to know what the hell they are doing. I do have a business license, and my wife and I are in the process of starting a new web business. EVDO is the only connection available in our area and between personal use and requiring it for business it is imperative that we get switched over and avoid the caps. Can anyone help? Is there a link online that I can do this through that maybe I overlooked? Help! |

I got a call from a group called Priority (aka Loyalty).
They pushed me into Retention when I said I was thinking about quitting.
I, too, use the card for business and I have a tax id # separate from my ss #.
They agreed to recategorize me as corporate liable. I've had my data card service with Sprint since July 2003, so I don't know if that made any difference. I also have probably never gone over 5GB. But this whole thing is disgustingly irritating, a betrayal to long-term customers, and a huge time suck, the latter of which is the standard operating procedure for Sprint.
I pray every night to be delivered into the hands of a wireless data organization that has it together . . . and which will not tell me my account was cancelled in 2006 even though the card works in June 2008 commensurate with my payments . . . . |

You have to do the conversion through the location you purchased your device. If you purchased from Sprint, give them a call (sorry, might take awhile on the phone).
If you purchased from 3Gstore.com, send an email to sprint at 3gstore dot com and we can assist you. You MUST have a Federal Tax ID in order to start the transfer. Include your 3Gstore.com order number in your email. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I have a question. My Company gives deals (with 20% price reduction for phones) for sprint if I use their company code and switch over, and tell them I am with the company. All of our sales reps have laptops with Novatel EVDO cards (somewhere in the nature of 5000+), so they can get quotes and do work while meeting with potentional customers.
the price reduction isn't on data plans.
However could I get exempted by switching over? Also the current plan is under my wife's name and not ours (thought I don't think it matters).
I'm just wondering if I can get exempted buy somehow being 'marked' as corporate user.
Used 3.71GB so far and it's 1/2 through the month. With 3 pc's on the net it's not hard to do. I'm barely within EVDO range. With the Omni antenna, I get 2-3 bars in summer (93-9 signal, but it's still fine for us. Without this.. it's back to dial up.. and that was already painful for 8 years. |

Michael, are you certain that business/corporate liable accounts are not subject to the 5GB/month caps coming next month? I have emailed a rep from dan@sprint.com, that I would guess would try to have some sort of clue, twice and both times they indicated that all account types are subject to the cap.
I really hate that it would appear no two people at the company have the same understanding of a fundamental change to their much advertised Mobile Broadband service. _________________ --Larry |

ok, here's a really weird thing...
Our family got our bill yesturday from sprint.
The only service we have with sprint is the Unlimited EVDO. Now on our bill it said billing period May 2008-June2008. On page 2 under important notices and announcements there was nothing about a cap at all. I forgot what was first, but the second thing was about hearing aid compatibility. There was nothing about a cap. So that's really strange. Some people have already reaported a notice from April and May. here it is June and my bill has nothing.
One more thing...
We have the SSN account (not corporate or business) _________________ -Henry |

Michael,
According to your latest info you (3G ) state ....
UPDATE 06/19/08 The new terms of service described above, will be in place for all accounts created on or after July 13, 2008 - regardless if the account is individual or corporate liable.
Meaning??????? If you have a business/corporate account NOW before the 13th you're ok? Not after?? Kind of confusing here. Personal account? This leads one to believe now that if your account was created before the 13th you're exempt?! Might want to clarify this. |
