Compass 597 GPS Feature

I recently bought the Compass 597 from Sprint. I noticed that smartview has some LBS, like finding local coffee shops. Is there any software that will allow you to use the GPS capabilities of the Compass just like a GPS device? OR like VZ Vavigator, with turn by turn directions?

If so, can anyone recommend such a software?

i am looking for the same, thinking about paying the $20 for google earth pro.

I use Microsoft Streets and Trips with my Sprint 597e air card.

It has good results, but I find that it has a hard time getting a good fix on the satellites in my truck for some reason. I think it's the tint on the windows.

I am using the usb 597 and have it on my dash and it work's perfect with street and trips just as good as the gps that came with the program. actually better because in most parking garages it still shows where I am and the one that came with streets would not.
