Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but.....

Hooked the Comcast cable modem to the WAN port of the MBR 1000. The router sees and acknowledges the connection and in Failover says it's activated/recognized, but can't access the internet. My laptop sees the router ok and I can connect to the router, just no internet? Any suggestions/ideas??

Firedude,

Did you get this problem resolved? I'm trying to connect to a Hughes modem and I'm getting the same thing?

Regards.

gator85ee...
I did with the help of 3G. If my memory serves me right here's what I had to in addition to 3G's solution/directions....

First power down both the Hughes modem and the router. Then FIRST power up the Hughes modem then power up the router. I had to do this in order to get the two to "sync up". First you need to follow the advice given to me by Michael in his post. I don't haven that info handy right now. Just follow the directions above and the info will be sent to you then ad my steps to it if that does not work and you should be in business. Sorry i don't have the 3G info handy at the moment. Maybe they will chime in. In the meantime follow Michael's directions above. I basically had all the settings 3G suggested and it was the additional part I mention above that finally "sealed the deal".

Thanks firedude. I sent 3G an email.

I think I may have to do some tricks because the HN7000 is also a router. So you have to set the WAN in the MBR to a different subnet than the LAN?

Something like that. I'll keep hammering away at it.

The process will work. I just switched laptops and don't have 3G's info handy. It's no different then the Comcast cable modem I used really in my way of thinking. it's still the backup internet source router or not. Hughes may call them a router, but to me in all reality they are a modem. IF I remember correctly the 100 pretty much auto detected it with the few exceptions 3G will clue you in on. I don't think I had to make any major changes.

Internet service provider is set at "Not listed or don't know".

WAN settings were very basic using DCHP under internet settings and check the "Get Automatically from ISP/Cellular Provider".

Also check "Use Unicasting" with MTU at 1500

Let me know how you came out. 3G will get back you pretty quick!
