Setup:
U720 modem plugged into a Wilson Trucker antenna. Usually run through a CTR350, bounced to a WRT54G, but hooked up directly to a laptop for testing.
Looks like i'm about equidistant from two antennas, at 1.75 and 2 miles, no clear line-of-sight (trees).
Getting about a -98 to -105 signal strength.
Speedtest is giving me results of 150-566 down, and anywhere from 5 to 60 up. i once got a 90 upload while traveling around the property with my high-tech surveying equipment (aka, antenna-on-a-2x4), but it seems to have been a fluke.
Most recent test was 376 up/ 9 down. Yes, 9.
Since my wife is trying to use this to do remote work over Citrix, this is a major, major problem. It'll be usable for brief periods, sometimes days, and then just lock up completely for hours on end.
Anyone else encountering this kind of issue with VZN? I didn't see anything in the first few pages of search...
Location is zip 29449... 1200 people with a median income of $54,000, 25 miles from downtown Charleston, SC, and we can't get high speed internet for love or money... Just infuriating |

SC is Alltel EVDO country and, unlike the others (for now), No Cap!. You ought to check them out..and..3gstore is working on being an agent for them. You might have a better signal/speeds with Alltel instead. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

While this is true, just because SC is an Alltel territory doesn't mean that it's an excuse for Verizon service to be the way that it is. I'm assuming the the OP previously had satisfactory results on a previous ocassion with his setup? If this is just a recent change in service performance, it would be best to contact customer service and explain the issue so that they can open a trouble ticket to get the problem resolved. |
