|
|
I was looking around and found a link describing to enable EVDO mode only on a different card. Then i remembered that i was speaking to CS the other day because i am "signal challenged" and he got me into a debug mode. I didnt know what it was for then, but i think i remember seeing a setting for "HAS/HDR etc" mode. But sadly i forgot how to enter the menu. I just picked up an antenna booster and will be testing tonite. This information would help me very much.
I have:
Merlin s620
Sprint Connection Software (?name?) Version 3.1.7
thanks for any help. |

The codes for debug for the Merlin and AC580 are (press and hold the SHIFT key while entering the codes) 33DATA is for changing the connection variables in the card itself (MSL code is required also) and 33DEBUG is for network monitoring thru the card itself aka TEST MONITOR...
But, there is trick you must do to get this codes to work and walking someone thru the procedure is the only way to accomplish it... _________________ EVDO Addict.

To answer a PM I received about the 650 card. No, I don't know the debug menu code. Only the Sprint Merlin and the AC580 do I know of for now. If I find out the 650 debug mode then I will post it here.. _________________ EVDO Addict. |

| All I'm looking for is a way to keep the V620 in BroadbandAccess (i.e. lock out NationalAccess)!! It seems with the VPN I have to use it can fall back to NA but will NEVER go back BA unless I stop the VPN session and allow it to go dormant or disconnect. A real PITA. |

Easy-
Put your cursor over the connect button, and type
##DEBUG
*BINGO* you're done! |

*BINGO* you're done! | Ummm to what card are you referring too? And, there is a little more to this than that if it is the Sprint Aircard. Micheal and I will talk about the proper procedure so no one will be confused. Micheal will put a detailed thread up to describe both codes ##DEBUG and ##DATA with screenshots, I think? With the ##DATA code you can change the system programming in the card itself. Stay tune. _________________ EVDO Addict. |

The behavior you describe is the correct, expected behavior with EVDO in it's current release. You can hand down to 1X on the fly, but you cannot hand up back to EVDO unless you allow your device to go dormant. This should be fixed in EVDO Rev A.
I'm not sure how to do it on the V620 (maybe someone can help out here), but you are looking to change to "HDR only" and disable "hybrid mode". Maybe you can get someone in a retail store to do it for you. |
