I see in a number of topics a number of posts about getting throttled after the 5GB "soft-cap" for those of us who signed up before the hard caps.
I just wanted to add my .02$. I am getting throttled in no way shape or form. Just this week alone I have downloaded over 30GB. I average 100GB+ a month easy most of the time. No sign of any type of throttling here. Maybe I am just lucky? Or in an area where not many people use it by chance?
But if verizon does throttle it, or I have to take a 5GB plan when my contract runs out, well, they sure won't be getting anymore of my money. |

Would you care to take some screen shots or scans of your actual bill showing your 100GB a month average?
I'm not saying I don't believe you but I'd still like to see it. Also its not for certain you will get throttled they reserve the right to throttle you. Which basically means if the tower your on gets overloaded and they see your way over you'll get throttled.
If nobody complains in your area thats probably why your not getting throttled. Are you in a highly populated area with lots of users or a smaller town with few users? |

Well my digital camera is dead atm, and I don't have a scanner, here is a screen shot of the last week or so thus far, according to verizons' website. According to my info, I have downloaded that much, and uploaded another 22GB, give or take a few.
Here is my torrent info over the last 6 months....this is JUST torrents, not web browsing downloading videos, mods for games, playing games, or any number of other things.
But I don't exactly live in a small town, but it's not a big one at any rate. (Springfield, IL) But I have no idea how many people nearby use it. |

Wow thats pretty crazy. I'm on the second contract with the possibility of getting throttled after 5GB. Right now I'm at 4.2GB and have till the 23rd before it resets.
I've cut back a lot just to keep it under it. I'm half tempted to go over the limit just to see if I get throttled. I know EVDO is really new in my area and not to many people use it to my knowledge.
But the other part of me doesn't want to risk it and get throttled for a whole month. Thanks for the screen shot though must be nice! |

Wow that's some usage! hehe
I have gone over 5gb every month since I started last September and haven't been throttled. I use maybe 6-7gb which isn't excessive but this month I'm pushing 10gb. I think I'm in a low usage are also so maybe they just don't care. |

So what is the deal? Do you think that since I live in a town in rural iowa with pop 10,000 that if I go over 5GB on sprint they will throttle me? I would like anyone's opinion. Is it just in heavly populated areas that major EVDO rev A carriers are worried about over users? _________________ - Henry |
