Is it possible to set up a wireless home network with a sprint 597 usb model without purchasing one of the expensive wireless routers (~200-25 for the MBR1000 or Kyocera KR2)? I have a windows XP desktop at home and a co-worker has said that with internet connection sharing I could accomplish this with a standard wireless router (Linksys - Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router for example). I am somewhat familiar with networking but I would like to know if this is possible and the steps I would have to take to do this before I spend a week banging my head against the wall and find out it can't be done. I would appreciate any help or advice anyone could offer. Thanks.

There are many posts up here on EVDOforums and EVDOinfo that discuss Internet Connection Sharing or ICS.

Or on EVDOinfo, search on "sharing".

Keep in mind that it is more complicated on Windows compared to a Mac and there may be DNS and other issues that you need to resolve to get it working.

FYI, you wouldn't be using a normal wireless router, but rather your computer becomes the router.
