The latest firmware supports the U727, but I tried it with my U720 and it says no GPS device detected.
Has anyone got it working with a U720? |

Negative, the 2 they specify in notes (AC595U and U727) are the only ones I've seen work.

Does the GPS function work effectively indoors (or other places where cell towers can see but not GPS satellites? That is something a standard GPS cannot do.

I know they specify only the U727 and AC595U in the release notes, but I don't think the U720 and U727 are very different. Yes the U727 is smaller, but I think they have similar internal components.

I may not have been clear enough, I have the 720 and the 727, the 720 doesn't work.

I e-mailed cradlepoint a while back, this is my e-mail

I noticed that the latest firmware has GPS support for the Novatel U727, but not for the U720 (which I have). The GPS feature is something I've really looked forward to, so I'm wondering if U720 will be supported at a later date, or if I should just bite the bullet and upgrade my hardware to U727?

It is entirely possible that the U720 will be supported with one of the
next firmware releases, however, I cannot confirm that it will be
supported within any given timeframe. The fact that the U727 is already
supported bodes well for the U720 being supported, and in fact it may
already work. The only way to know if it works is to try it, but so far
we have not tested that feature of the U720 and would be unable to offer
support with that. So it's up to you whether or not you want to stick
it out (it will be at the least six weeks until a new firmware upgrade)
or get the other card. If you have any more questions, email back.
