Not sure anyone cares, but I played Everquest the other night with my V620 on Verizon in Denver and it worked just fine. Zoning was a little slower than usual with a cable modem but not a problem. I played for a couple of hours without a hitch. I was able to run and keep up with people and even did ok in a raid with about 60 people. Everquest is not a real bandwidth pig, but I was worried about latency. The latency issues with EVDO did not really seem to be a problem with this game.
I did not test Everquest 2 since my laptop will not handle it.
I will test Warcraft III next week!
It does seem to me that Verizon's EVDO has been steadily getting more solid. There was a time where I almost gave up on it, but I have been content for some time now with performance and consistency. _________________ Victor |

I just don't want to miss your post. I have some friends across that are playing it, of course on cable or dsl, and all I have is verizon wireless, national access. I play Guild Wars without a problem, but that isn't quite the MMORPG that WOW is.
Thanks,

World of Warcraft works great over Sprint EVDO in San Antonio, TX
In main world latency was green at 239ms
In a 40 man raid latency was yellow and was around 400ms.
Played just like I was at home on cable modem! |

| All I have national access (no EVDO in my area yet) and I don't have any problems playing WOW or Guild Wars. I do run into a bit of lag when going to the largest city in WOW but that's about it. I was quite surprised at how well it runs. |

| What realm are you guys on in WoW? I know that would play a huge factor in how it worked, as I am on Dalaran, it should probably work very well with it being a low population server. |

I had a similar problem using the sprint connection software in WoW (the sprint software would lockup not allowing me to reconnect about every 2 minutes).
I've switched over to just using the windows network connection for the Sprint PCS Vision - Novatel Wireless and have not had a problem since. I'm guess that the amount of incoming packets from the WoW server causes the tracker in the Sprint software to choke and die.
Anyway, with a fair signal (at work), I'm getting an in game ping of 320-600ms (average ping of about 415 or so) on the Scarlet Crusade server. This is about 200ms or so less than the pings I experienced on the V620 Card with Verizon and about 100ms greater than what I get on my home cable connection here.
All in all, switching to sprint has been a win/win for me. |

The newer Sprint Connection managers have been killing all games forcing a disconnect. This is rather new as back in November and the first of December there wasn't a problem with disconnects while gaming but now everyone is reporting the same problem.
As far as this post............ dang people still play Evercrack? |
