I just got the MBR1000 and a new UM150 from Verizon and I am having performance issues with the combination of the two. When the modem is plugged into my laptop I get good performance from it, about 1600k down and 300k upload

but when plugged into the MBR1000 I am only getting about 130k download and 80k upload:

Here is the modem status I get from the router:

Name Value
Refresh

Manufacturer: UTStarcom communication Inc.
Product: PANTECH USB MODEM
Carrier Status: UP
ESN: 0x0000000
Model Info: UM150VE
ERATE N/A

BATT_LVL 0
NAI (Network Access Identifier): xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com

Primary Home Agent: 255.255.255.255
Secondary Home Agent: 255.255.255.255
MN-AAA SPI: 2
MN-HA SPI: 300
MN-AAA SPI: Set
MN-HA SPI: Set
Rev Tun: 1
Signal Strength (%): 48
PhysicalPort USB2
Connection Status: online

Any ideas on what is going on with this setup? I get about 2 dots on the modem in both locations (don't know how to check exact signal strength when plugged into laptop).

I set the UM150 to HDR only, and that seems to have taken care of half the problem. I am now getting about 1mb download and 25k upload when plugged into the router (which is in the basement, so I should have suspected it was going to 1xRTT in the first place), but I'm not sure why I would still be getting the slow upload even when forced to HDR. From what I've been reading is it possible it is still uploading in 1xRTT mode, and if so is there a way to stop that?
