Okay I'm not sure where to ask this since I don't know which routers work with the Sierra 595U aircard.
But I have some questions about them.
1. Currently I'm using a Thrustmaster Wifi key to get online with my PS3. I dial into VZW then turn the Wifi on from my computer. Its really slow for some reason. I did a simple speedtest through the PS3 browser and only got like 223Kbps. I get like 800-900kbps when I run it on my computer. Will a wireless evdo router bring the full potential to the PS3? I guess I should note I wasn't surfing on the computer while doing the speedtest.
2. How exactly do you control the router? I guess I'm asking if there is a way to force it into HDR mode from the router since if I leave it on auto it will go to National Access most of the time.
3. I always keep my connection active. For some reason if it goes dormant it will give this webpage cannot be displayed. I don't know why its not staying connected it says it is still connected but the browser errors for some reason when it goes dormant even though I've got a -75dBm. What I do currently is dial in, get connected then ping google to keep the connection busy at all times so it can't go dormant. Can I do this through the router or setup something that will keep it active without going dormant?
4. Which routers work with my aircard? It won't need to have anymore than 50 feet of overall range so I don't need a huge range one either. Just a cheap one that works well so I can get a decent speed on my PS3 as well.
5. Is there a way I could just run a Ethernet cable from my computer to the PS3 and connect it that way? |
