Upgrading Modem?

does alltel have a discounted pricing on modems, if you extend your contract?

I really want one of those um150s. It would just be tons more convenient than this PC5750..

AFAIK you have to be pretty close to the end of your contract before they'll offer a discount with contract extension. IIRC you signed up not too long ago and probably don't qualify.

Did you check ebay? You can do an ESN swap for free.

two scenarios..

both you need to be a customer in relatively good standing...

1. you are just into a new contract, and haven't filed for rebates.. all gear is new, and box/materials are still new and available to return.

2. you are almost OUT of a contract...

Either of these situations could net you a new modem and contract. Friends, friends, friends... I can't stress that enough. If someone high up is a good friend, and you meet one of those two scenarios I listed, you have a more than average chance of getting what you want. Trust me.. first hand knowledge makes me able to post this message lol.

Someone here told me about Kika Enterprises Inc. This is the same seller from the eBay auction above but they have a web site.

From the home page select the cell phones, then data cards, the UM150
is on the 2nd page. It's around $75 + shipping. The first time I ordered
from the site they were out of stock but they refunded immediately. A few
days later they were back in stock, ordered and received it very fast.

Sure beats the Alltel price with or without contract.
