|
|
| I use my sprint compass 597 for playing xbox live on, Sometimes it lags horribly and other times it's perfect. Whenever I play xbox, my put my 597 next to the window and im getting -100s and -90 dbms. I am upset with the poor connection and even when I go onto my deck, Im getting -80 and -70dbm. Everyone is reporting getting 1.2 mb download and 500 mb upload and a 100 something ms ping. I just tested mine and I got 240ms ping, a 435 kb download and a 95 upload all while having a 20% signal. Sometimes my card switches over to the slower 1rxt or whatever it's called and my game ends on xbox live and I can't get a rev A connection until I disconnect. Please help. |

You need an antenna to improve this for reasonable performance.

Since your starting point is in 90's and 100's I would go with an antenna mounted outside in the 6-12 dpi range. |

| Can you make this in "english" because I have no idea what anyone is talking about on this forum. I'm trying to find the best way to get the fastest signal and the strongest. |

it might be better to extend the usb cable. if you extend the antenna cable too far you lose all the signal that you gain. in other words for each foot of cable you will lose a certain amount of signal. so if your antenna gain doesn't outweigh the cable loss you could end up worse. that is why they sell amps to boost the antenna signal.
your best way would be to use a router. then you can position the aircard where it gets the best signal and the router sends the signal to your computers and xbox over wifi. |

| thanks. I think we are just going to try to use the 12 foot that the antenna comes with and try to put the cable through a window to the data card on top of our tv into the router. |
