I have the Compass 597 which is USB. I went to the Sprint store and had them place the 597E, which is an Express34 card, in my laptop. With both the Compass and the Express in my laptop at the same time I could see which extended away from the laptop the most. This is what I noticed:
1) They both extend out from the laptop about the same length. I could not see any difference.
2) The Compass is very lightweight. The Express is bulky in my opinion.
3) The Compass is USB and therefore can be used in any laptop or desktop. The Express can only be used in a laptop.
4) If somehow you dropped your laptop, or something crazy like that, the Express probably would have more damage. The Express fits deep inside the laptop which means it probably break into with part of it stuck inside. The USB probably would fall off with the tip stuck inside the USB port. The USB stands a greater chance of surviving.
The Compass 597 is the better option in my opinion. |
