My dad just bought two Verizon USB727 USB Modems the other day, and speeds haven't been as fast as I've heard...
We're still fairly new to all of this, since we just switched from NetZero, and I would appreciate any help/explanation as to why this is happening...
I've been reading around and what I can gather from my VZAccess manager is that my RSSI is 97-98dBm. |

| Did you check the verizon map to see if you are within a EVDO area? You could be connected using the slower one and not on EVDO. Can you provide your City, State, and ZIP? |

Thanks again!
EDIT: I just checked EVDOmaps.com, and it says that there's a computer using RevA around me...that goes 679/253 download/upload... |

Maybe a cheap 20 dollar antenna would help. Moving it around in a 3 foot area could make a difference. It does with me. Sitting in the front USB port of my machine gets me like 30kb/s download (-106 or so...)
And moving it to a spot 2 feet away. I am getting -76 to -74, 130-170kb/s download, and 100kb/s upload. If you had an antenna you could move around. It could make a difference, it's only 20 dollars roughly. OR.... You could get a 6' USB extension, I have that, and it works fine, keeps it out of the way, and super fast internet connection. |
