|
|
I currently have a PC5750, connected to a wilson omni antenna. It works good.. I have it going into a standard linksys wireless router. this works well, but causes me to have to keep my laptop on all the time, and I can never move it.
I'm wanting something more convenient. So I was thinking about upgrading to a USB modem, and one of those cradlepoint routers. I've heard that the USB modems are slower, and have more issues with latency than the cards. I am happy with the latency on my 5750 and I don't want my gaming experience screwed by changing.
also, what would I have to do to upgrade if I just bought a USB modem off ebay or something? I am under contract. Could I simply just activate it like I would a phone?
thanks. |

What kind of ping are you getting now? I have the UM150 USB card and a Cradlepoint MBR1000 router and I am getting any where from 125ms to 200ms I realy like the setup I can take the UM150 out of the router and take my laptop where ever I go. |

does alltel have an upgrade plan, so I can upgrade to the UM150 at a discounted price?
my pings are between 150-300 depending on the day sometimes they spike into the 500s. |
