I got my EVDO service during the winter when there were no leaves in the trees. Coupled with the signal booster and the 350 router, I was able to get a steady 3 bars (according to Quicklink Mobile) and was a a constant 900-1200 mbps connection.

But, now that the trees have filled, my signal strength is mediocre at best and on the fastest times, I can max out at 400-500 but holding at around a steady 200-250 (speedtest even reported a 999 ping *YIKES).

Is there a way to show signal strength through the 350 so I don't have to disassemble and connect to my laptop? My wife just got an Alltel cellphone and it shows only two bars strength so it eliminates a problem with the hardware and all the towers are in good shape, so I can only narrow it down to the newly Spring-induced forest between my house and the tower.

My budget is limited, so I need to know what's the next step. Omni? Amp?

Thanks.

Cancel.

I drove to with mere feet of the tower (if I stuck my hand out of the car window, I could touch the fence surrounding the base of the tower), had a signal strength of like -30, and still had mediocre speeds. Also tested on two towers in two other cities (we travel locally quite a bit) with the same results.

After hours of Googling, I'm attributing this problem to the ridiculous 1.1.1.x proxy server setup as everybody with Alltel to whom this has rolled out to are reporting similar problems.

I used to get 1500 down 100 up AVERAGE. NEVER did I drop below 1000 down.

Now that this retarded proxy was brought in I'm lucky if I break average 800 down 80ish up.

I'm going to give them time to get rid of this garbage and if they don't.. I'll be dropping my service and I will not pay a cancel fee either. This isn't what I signed up for nor am I paying for.. they either get their sh*t together or they're going to lose a lot of customers.

They're wasting time and money investing in retarded technology that has proven multiple times that it simply does not work.. they need to put that time and money into freaken getting us RevA already.

Hopefully I'll have DSL by june and can get off this pile of crap service.. not much better then stupid hughesnet satellite.
