Okay, I have read sticky notes and searched through some posts and I seem to be getting conflicting information. Either:

1. The information says that this combination does not work is outdated

or

2. The people that this is working for is location specific (they are using a Sprint signal in an area w/ no Verizon service) but this seems like a stretch.

I have the PC card version because my wife has an older laptop and I wanted both mine and hers to be able to use it. I was leaning towards the Linksys because I also have a company BlackBerry that is T-Mobile that I often use from home in WiFi mode (T-mobile service in my home area sucks). It works sort of like Voice-over-IP. I originally had a Belkin 802.11G router, but it would make my phone crash every time I connected. As it turns out, the BlackBerry doesn't work with a Belkin router. I got a Linksys 802.11G to replace it and it works fine. I want something that will work with this as well.

I also looked at the CradlePoint (doesn't have a PC slot), and the Kyocera KR2 (seems to be a concern over support and no guarantee of my BlackBerry working with it). It appears I am choosing between the lesser of evils. So which will give me the least amount of headache??

Well if you HAVE to have PC card, then the KR2 is you baby. The CradlePoint routers are superior in my opinion, and they in fact are making the KR2, so you're getting as close to a CradlePoint as you can.

Kyocera is just slow on support, not necessarily bad. Big companies traditionally suck for support, so you're stuck either way.

You came to the right place;-)

I am here to tell you that the PC5750 card has been known to work at times however it is not an "Officially" supported data card by the Linksys Corporation. Even though the router may work at times if a warranty replacement was ever requested, the support representatives at Linksys would deny your request for replacement. Somthing you won't want to get yourself involved in when other choices are available.

It is best to go with a router that you know is out of the box supporting your EVDO card as well as the carrier that you are using for your internet service. Even though the Kyocera KR2 is not branded as a CradlePoint product it does have a Cradle Point "Engine" under the hood. You are correct in saying that support may be a bit difficult going the Kyocera route, however it may be a better choice than going down the Linksys path.

I have worked with several customers that have the T-mobile curve and have been able to connect with the embedded WiFi on that device to connect to the wireless CradlePoint router as their internet source.

As of recent Kyocera has now added support for your card so it may be the better choice in case you ever have to go down the Kyocera Warranty Support Path.
