I just got a new Top Giobal MB6800 router and its working for me with my EC228 WIC. I'm running XP, Vista64, Ubuntu Studio 8.04 . I was having a image problem, but alltel fixed it tonight. Everything is good now.
Download is 1600 to 800 kbs Upload is 80 to 90 kbs. |

nice, to hear there is a router to work...unfortunately my wife being the gamer that she is just went and activated another line for our EVDO service so i now have 2 cards running in my house ....still waiting on rev a |

edit sorry to reup and old thread.. I searched ec228 on google and this was a result didnt read dates and just wanted to tell yall my insand speeeds
My alltel ec228 where i live there is no other isp ... i live in a mountain in a old folks town........
i had the ec360 but it kept giving errors that i was roaming internationaly
so i got this one for free
i get 200KBPS to 260KBPS down
yes kiloBYTES secons.
thats 2000-2200kilobits a second
2+megabits a second
homefully everyone and their different format can understand one of those

I decided it was time to upgrade from my old CDU-550. The Alltel rep handed me an EC228 but I was leaning toward the UM175. Since I had 15 days to test it out, I said what the heck and gave the EC228 a try. The download speeds are pretty insane:
This is rev0 and it's pretty average for morning/midmorning speeds. I'm underground in a basement office, my RSSI averages around -89 to -92. Other than increasing my up speeds when/if revA shows up, I don't see much room for improvement.
I decided I'd stay with my EC228. |
