I've said it dozens of times, if not more, don't use speedtest.net as an indicator for your ping.
Go to a command prompt on your computer and type: ping www.google.com or some other website you wish to ping. This will give you a more accurate depiction of what your ping is.
When I use speedtest.net, using the carolinanet.net server, they show 474ms ping, when using the same server via command prompt, it shows 166ms. This is on Rev. 0. Someone with Rev A should try this and compare the results. |

| For about two (maybe three?) weeks I've been getting Rev A in BME (aka rural northwestern VA, 22844). I was surprised they were rolling it out in places like this, I'm happy nevertheless. I'd post speedtest results, but I'm currently in Newark Airport using Boingo in transit to Hong Kong, and no alltel in China, obviously. I'll post caps when I get back. |

Sorry, little noob question but does Rev A simply allow faster upload over Rev 0 or what?
I am thinking I am on Rev 0 due to the slower upload at least compared to the previous speedtest's posted by you guys on Rev A. |

| Don't know how long I have had RevA but I switched Wireless Data cards from a PC5750, which I thought was RevA capable, to a UM150 tonight and my RevA icon was on. I did a speedtest real quick and got 1090 kb/s down and 420 kb/s upload. I pinged google.com a few times and and got around 200ms. This is on SID 1400 and I'm about 30 miles north of Kansas City Missouri - 64048. This is connected to a KR2 router. I usually get a little better download, like 1350, but the upload is way better. By the way, is there anyway to lock HDR on the UM150 like the PC5750? |

| The PC5750 is Rev A compatible. If your card isn't newly purchased, you have to update the firmware for the Rev A. |

When I purchased the card back in February I connected to Alltel for the first time using QuickLink and it installed it then. In the "about" screen it showed Rev. A. Don't know why it wasn't working. |

I think I got mine around the same time, but it was used. I'm not sure how far back the cards go that needed the firmware update. |

| My card seems to be connected to Rev a, it says it is in the connection software, however I am getting 1500 down and only 100 up, which seems like rev 0 so i dunno |

not 100% sure, but I saw some 300+kb/s upload speeds this afternoon in Central Arkansas,
I don't know if I was on rA or not as my card is plugged into a router so I couldn't see, but the speeds pretty much confirm that... I KNOW I wasn't roaming on sprint because sprint is dead in this area.
but now back to DO speeds. Maybe a test? |

Good to hear, I'm a few miles outside of Manhattan, I wouldn't be surprised if rA is online here as well. We tether, though, so still waiting for Alltel to release a rA phone (other than HTC Touch or PPC6800) before we can take advantage of the service. |
