|
|
I currently have the poor man's evdo network.
laptop with card via ICS over a linksys wireless router.
but, thats getting annoying leaving the laptop on all the time.. and and its a pain when I have to reboot the laptop.. the connection doesn't always come up everytime.
my wife is getting into digital photography and needs to be able to move the laptop.
What are my options?
I have a PC5750 attached to a wilson omni antenna thats stuck up in the window sill.
I can either get a router that works with my card..
or a different card and a less expensive router...
which? and what? |

| The KR1, KR2, and Linksys 3gWRT (i think that's the name lol) are probably your best three options. I didn't list them in any particular order. I personally use the KR1, and am moderately satisfied. I'm sure someone with more experience than me will be along to set it all straight for you. |

| I've heard some models do, some don't regarding the KR1. I'd avoid it and go to the KR2 or the WRT54G3G. |

it does work with the wireless just fine. You need to update the firmware, that's about it.
If price is a concern, go with the KR1, but I'd also suggest going the KR2, or the Linksys route. |

this is one of the posts I was referring to.
Good news is. I already have a normal wireless linksys router. So getting the kR-1 is still a fine option for me. I don't mind the extra device as long as its not connected to my laptop.. and besides.. it would still make use of my router. |
