| I can't seem to get this to work through my CTR-350. when I go straight to the laptop I can connect no problem, but forwarding ports and even putting the laptop in the DMZ for testing while behind the CTR-350 hasn't seemed to work. Any ideas? |

Hmm.... Well that was my first thought as Cradlepoint just released a new version. Not sure what to suggest next. I don't know much about the client you are using, but I am guessing that it is an IPSEC client and not a PPTP client.
You mentioned that you even port forwarded ports. Wondering which ports you opened? Although in theory putting it in the DMZ should have accomplished the same thing. |

| 1701 and 1723 were what I thought I found for that particular client but I am with you on the DMZ should have worked |

| Random thought... I think I remember someone saying that for a Cisco VPN client they turned the IPSec VPN setting OFF in the Special Applications menu. It seemed counterintuitive, but maybe something there is getting in the way of your client. |

I found the following in the Help section that may explain why turning off IPSEC works.
Allows multiple VPN clients to connect to their corporate networks using IPSec. Some VPN clients support traversal of IPSec through NAT. This option may interfere with the operation of such VPN clients. If you are having trouble connecting with your corporate network, try disabling this option. |

| Well I wonder what would happen if you try downgrading to 2.0. After that I am out of ideas. I believe the past versions of FW is on cradlepoints support site. |

| It may be a worth sending an e-mail to Cradlepoint support with the IPSEC client information and the trouble you are having. Especially if 2.0 does not work, or maybe even if it does. |

Go the the advanced/special applications and add a new application
Trigger Protocol/ports both 50-500
Input protocol/ports both 50-500
This worked for me. I also had tried DMZ and it did not work. _________________ RVUser |
