|
|
I talked with AllTell *&* got NO where other then something about only a few people like me have had this trouble.
I do not have another computer to hook it up to, but I did go back *&* got another UM150 *&* it is doing the same thing. I can run the Quicklink mobile for hours on end *&* my computer NOT freeze, but if I try surfing the net it eventully FREEZES my whole computer where again I have to do a HARD REBOOT. I can not do it any other way.
In talking with ALLTEL advance tech support they had told me that there are certian computers that ONLY during surfing times that this does happen *&* they do not have any fix for it. Although one person they know of got a IT to do something, they can't say what it was, but got it to work. They said again I am NOT the only one that they have heard about this trouble from, something about not seeing the right image. Not that this makes any sense to me, but due that there is NOT many like me, that they are NOT doing anything about it. ONLY if *&* when there are enough people like myself that have this same trouble will they look into it in depth. Something to do with the only a few types of computers is there this trouble. I happen to be one of them.
I did get them to extend the trial for one more week which will end now on the 3rd of May.
I am HOPING SOMEONE there will look into this in depth *&* HELP ME with this trouble. I do like the UM150 *&* want to use it, but don't see why I should have to go out *&* find a laptop that might or might NOT work with it depending on if I am one of the LUCKY ones. My computer IS NOT that old at all, it was manufactured in 2004 *&* think you all would want to get on top of something like this *&* help out.
My computer is a AVERATEC 3200 seriers
Mobile AMD Athlon XP-m
(LV) 2200+
1.26 GHz, 480 MB of Ram
I am running OS Windows XP Pro Version 2002
Service Pack 2
I have ALL updated drivers *&* BIOS update from AVERATEC as well as ALL WINDOWS updates.
I have 0 Virues of any kind *&* have done scans in depth to make sure of this.
I have my Firewalls all OFF *&* my built in Wireless network Disabled
There are NO conflicts showing up at all inside my Device manager *&* every time it does LOCK UP (Freezes my computer.) it is showing NO ERRORS in the event viewer of any kind.
Again I can stay connected with no troubles *&* it is ONLY FREEZING my computer when I do any type of surfing of the net, raither I'm using IE7 or Firefox makes no differance which.
Also just for info sake, I can use the built in wireless to connect to my HOME network *&* run with NO FREEZES or SLOW DOWNS of any kind for over a TWO weeks NONE STOP on a site called Ustream.tv which gives a LIVE NON-Stop feeds. I did this test before deciding to go down *&* get the UM150 *&* start using it so I could take this computer on the road with me wherever I go.
I even did a FULL reformat *&* reinstalled Windows XP Pro *&* it did that same D*mn thing.
PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MANNER *&* PLEASE HELP!!!! |

I would consider increasing my RAM . When a computer locks up it is a strong indication that it is running short on memory. _________________ Ron |

| It's not that. You missed that it NEVER freezes up when using the home network. ONLY when using the UM150 *&* surfing on the net with it. It has something to do with that. |
