|
|
Has anyone had any sucess with an idea of using an EVDO capable phone and linking it with a Ipod Touch?
I 99.9% sure now, after reading alot, that the Ipod Touch does not have bluetooth capabilities. However has anyone thought of using an ipod sync cable (ipod to usb) and a phone cabale (phone to usb) and seeing if they can connect without a router? The idea being having a full fledge armor or pda options.
I currently have an ipod touch (16 GB) and a samsung SCHi-760 pda from verizon. I also have a kyocera wireless evdo router which I have used with my phone and the ipod successfully (even in my truck!). My issue is these two items aren't truly 100% portable and 100% usable at the sametime. I mean I love using my phone for all it's pda uses, however I like using the ipod touch more for internet browsing as well as google maps. I figure you could technically use both very productively if there was a way to combine them without a router. Such as a cable linking the two. I guess there would also have to be a hack or jailbreak program made for the ipod touch to be able to use the evdo capabilities.
I was wondering what you all think since alot of you understand more about these technologies then I do. _________________ Vzw SCHi-760 |

| Man, I wish I could help, but the only way I've got mine to work is with the very small Cradlepoint PHS300.It will create a wifi hotspot connection for your ipod. You still have a router, but its VERY portable. |

Yes, I don't see a way without some type of wifi router. Or maybe you can found a mod that allows the Ipod to have bluetooth. |

I don't know why the touch didn't come with BT. |
