OK I have searched for a few days now and I guess I just have not typed in the magic phrase to find my answers. This is what I have; a 150um USB modem from Alltel plugged into a desktop PC running Vista Premium wired to a Linksys wrt54g router which I connect (Wireless) to my laptop running XP.
With the laptop I can use the printer connected to the desktop and see all my shared media but can not access the internet with the laptop.
Under network connections I have
"ALLTEL WIRELESS INTERNET" selected as shared
"LOCAL AREA CONNECTION" and
"LOCAL AREA CONNECTION 2"
which "LOCAL AREA CONECTION 2" is the WWAN driver.
What Am I missing? |

I had a netgear broadband router doing the same as yours. I had to go into the router and disable DHCP and assign an IP addy to the router that was within range of Windows DHCP IP addys.
If your router is a broadband router, like mine is this could be your problem. If it isnt, I have no idea. |
