Hi everyone,

I have a U727 with sprint and I everything was doing just fine for me. I had my U727 plugged into my latop (win 2000) and I had a crossover cable to swich between my 360 and my mac. (for the time being.) i want to get a router. however now that is beside the point. Well, so i decided to download the new SCM and everything was good. but then it downloaded two new updates. one I belive was malware crush which i uninstalled on my laptop, but the other was firmware update 114. now all of a sudden, I can't connect to the internet on my mac, or even play a little 360 live. When I try to set up a LAN on my mac, everything seems fine (go to TCP/IP>manual>type in an IP address and for subnet 255.255.255.000) also on my dell laptop I make sure that the sprint broadband connection in network and dialup connections has enabled internet connection sharing for Local area connection. I have also tried to settting the Local Area Connection to automatically assign DNS servers and IP address, also, I have just made up some. either way I can't get internet.
but here is the really weird thing... When I go to network status in my mac network preferences, it says that the built in ethernet is active and connected to the address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (whatever it is that I set it to at the time) It also says that I am "connected to the internet via built in ethernet" well, when I go to safari, opera, firefox, AOL via TCP/IP, anything, I cannot access the internet. I cant even ping any site using the pinger from mac utilites. I am wondering if the new 114 firmware disabled the internet sharing feature available with the 112 firmare. (i don't know why they skipped 113)
If any one has any help for me please reply! this is frustrating becasue just 2 days ago I had perfect setup on my 360, mac and laptop. now i can only get access on the laptop.
THank you for any responses to my topic.

oh btw I am using the older novatel manager that came preinstalled on the U727. I use this connection becasue the new SCM does not have its own icon in "network and dial up connections folder" so I won't ever be able to enable the internet sharing connection if i was connected with the new SCM.
