Windows Vista is set to auto tune TCP by default. As a result, you get a note when you run TCP analyzer that states

"In Windows Vista, unless you have disabled "TCP/IP Auto-Tuning", readings in the Analyzer will only show the Current TCP Window, and the TCP Optimizer will have no effect."

You disable the auto tune feature by moving to the command window as administrator and entering"
"netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled"

You confirm it by typing the following at a command prompt:
"netsh interface tcp show global"

However, that confirmation command gives me a response that says:
"Receive-side scaling state : enabled"

Other features are disabled, however, I still cannot change the TCP receive window (RWIN) setting froma paltry 17520 to wander in the tweaking fields.

Have other Vista users had success at changing your RWIN settings?
