[RESOLVED] Compass 597 Sprint Activation Issues

We love being first when it comes to anything EVDO, especially when there is a new product.

We received the Sierra Compass 597's last Thursday and immediately had problems activating the new devices.

We figured that since the device wasn't going to be announced until 4/20 (Sunday), Sprint wasn't letting us activate the device until they were officially announced.

Now it is Monday am and there are still problems. Sprint is aware of the problem and "they are working on it". Usually, when there are new devices, there are hiccups like these. If you ordered yours and were expecting it to ship today - it may not.

We will keep this thread locked and only update it when we have something new to report.

Sprint is still having issues activating the Compass 597s.

Apparently the shipment that they sent out, had not been loaded into Sprint's system. This means that the ESNs of each device are not recognized. It seems like it would be a simple process for Sprint to load the ESNs, BUT we are waiting on them to complete this task before the Compass 597 can be activated. We are trying every few hours AND we have notified many at Sprint of this bonehead mishap on their part.

Sprint got the issues worked out on their end and we were able to activate and provision (and test) a Compass 597 late last night and early this am and all is well.

So, if you ordered a Compass 597 over the last few days, it will ship today. Thanks for your patience.

If you have been waiting, if you order by early this afternoon, we should be able to ship today.
