I have been on Alltel EVDO for about a month (Um150). At first I was using the "Quick Link Mobile" software. I bought the CTR350 (updated software pre-loaded) and hooked it up. I have it wired with cat5 to my desktop and my wife uses her laptop.
When I hooked up it automatically worked fine. I am only 1 mile from a tower and had average speeds of 1100KB. For the past 3 days I haven't seen anything over 300KB and a few times it was 100KB (speedtest.net). When I look at the Quick Link Mobile now, it says the device is not connected so I don't know how to see if I am getting a good connection. Is there a way to do that? Am I connected through my computers dial-up modem now?

Thanks,
Rudy

If you are getting 100k and 300k I can assure you are not connected to a dialup modem. Your tower pobably has an issue. To verify this bypass your router and plug the card directly into your computer. If you still have slow speeds call your wireless provider.
