Lately I've had a bout with my browser getting redirected to a spanish google page instead of my usual firefox/google start page that comes up when starting firefox.

The only thing that seems to reset things is disconnecting the scm and then reconnecting . After the bad experience with that new scm I went back to the 3.02.036 scm. I still have that new scm downloaded but I did uninstall it. Anyone else have this problem? I'm using the Pantech PX-500 pc card.

wow! that same exact thing has been happening to me occasionally. I have no idea what the heck caused it. sometimes, it is fine, but once in a while everytime i type in www.google.com, it automatically goes to www.google.com/es or whatever the spanish home page is. if anyone knows why this is, please help us.

I am thinking that it has something to do with the IP's they are giving. I have been having a problem with watching shows on CBS with it saying that the shows are only available for us ppl.

Are you using a proxy?

Check your Internet Option > Connections > LAN settings

Same problem, no proxy. Plain vanilla install of SCM with my 595U. I addition to Spanish my wife has also recently been getting German or Dutch Google (I can't remember which) when using SCM on her laptop. I have not noticed it when dialing #777 from the desktop however.

Did the new SCM not add some type of forced proxy service? aka transparent proxy

I seem to recall something about that and some option to disable it. If a forced proxy is being used then that could explain it though it would still be odd.

hmmm, this is a shot in the dark...

on firefox, under

Preferences > Content > Fonts > Advanced

you can specify your 'Default Character Encoding"

In the past, if you specified a language on this setting, some sites detect that preference and will serve different content...

like i said... a shot in the dark.

I agree that the languages setting in browsers will cause some servers to display different languages, but if you are not changing your browser settings, it could be based on a new block of IPs that Sprint is using for mobile broadband.

When this happens again, post what IP Address you were assigned.

You can easily find your external/public IP by visiting:

http://myipaddress.com/

Thanks!

I was on the Roachdale, Indiana, HA,and was experiencing this problem, over and over again; I switched to the secondary Roachdale HA and haven't experienced any problems since then (by the by, I use my card in my router).

Well out of the blue, firefox tried connecting to the darn google.es again after a long reprieve. Went to myipaddress.com and got this ip.

72.59.108.213

Lately firefox isn't even able connect to the spanish google page either when it does this, I just noticed at the bottom where it says trying to connect to such and such a site that it says "trying to connect to google.es" but a lot a times its not able to and times out.
