I think one of the best ones to get would be the MBR1000. I don't own one, but I am thinking about getting one for my home network. I also own a U727. It looks like any cradlepoint router seems good, but only the MBR1000 has the extra ethernet ports. One of the smaller ones has one ethernet port, but if you wanted to play 360 and use it on a PC, you would always be switching in and out the ethernet cables. _________________ - Henry |

Cradle Point MBR 1000 is my choice. Give the folks at the 3G store a call. They'll get you dialed in and have the best support. there is a link to the 3G store above.

To hook up to your PC, first check if your PC has a wifi adapter in it. probably g or if it's a new PC, it might mave 802.11 N. the MBR1000 is compatible with wifi b,g,and n. If your PC doesn't have a wireless network adapter built in, you will either have to buy a USB one or just use an ethernet cord directly from the PC to the router. Ethernet cords are cheap though, so that might be the way to go... _________________ - Henry |

most likely. you can just do a quick check. look next to the 56k modem port(the regular phone line) there should be a wider, port with a symbol like christmas lights with one on top and two on bottom. that is the ethernet port. _________________ - Henry |

The MBR1000 has 4 ethernet ports and is a Wireless N router, so it will give you 6X the distance.

Dear Michael, Site Admin
Thank you for the information.
I am very sure you have the knowledge to answer the following questions regarding the information that you posted.
You mention "6x the distance".
Six times the distance of what?
Is anything else needed to obtain this additional 6 times distance, or does it work with everything?
Can I really expect to get a actual maintainable connection at six times the distance in real world conditions, or is this something that is obtainable only in a lab using specialized equipment and special circumstances designed to create unrealistic numbers for use as marketing hype?
I ask these questions, as I have been told that the MIMO technology that extends the range of "N" (and some "G") devices only works with other, compatible MIMO devices, and these is no additional range benefit for all other devices. Further, I have been told that the real word range advantage of these MIMO devices is really only 2 to 3 times at best.
You guys are experts!
I read how you folks test this stuff so I want to thank you in advance for the honest, unbiased, and straightforward pre-sales advice, that we, as customers, can always count on from the 3G experts!

If it's an ethernet port, I believe it will be just fine. _________________ - Henry |
