HI. I need to locate where the nearest sprint evdo broadcasting antenna is. ( not the tower, I mean the actual thing they use to send out the signal) Becasue sprint rents out some towers to put their equipment on. Is the only way to find that out by calling them and waitng a long time? Thanks for any suggestions. _________________ - Henry |

I just tried that. It did not work too well. I couldn't even find verizon or USCC towers. all I could find were local towers and antenna but none of them were sprint. _________________ - Henry |

I have used antennasearch dot com in my area to found the antennas (Shreveport, LA) and it shows one under Verizon that is in my area. I don't think you will found the server right under there name as they use other people towers in some areas. |

| Just use the Sprint coverage maps. Assuming you're not in the middle of a big city like New York or Chicago where cellsites are densely spaced, it's pretty easy to approximate the location of a Sprint cellsite. On the maps the coverage projected from each cellsite starts dark green and gets lighter the weaker the coverage. If you find the approximate center of the dark green on the voice portion of the coverage map that will tell you where the cellsite is. If you actually want to find it in person you can tell Sprint cellsites apart from other carriers since they use smaller panels and equipment compared to other carriers. Usually it is one panel per sector and a total of 3 panels, one pointing in each direction. The synergy sites (originally Iden but now Sprint too) are typically four panels per sector but you will always see one oddball panel out of the four which is the Sprint CDMA panel. |
