|
|
My provider is Alltel. Recently my kpc680 card has only been get 1x speeds. It has been 2 or 3 days since seeing anything other that 1x. I was getting 700k to 900k speed. My Uncle that lives next to me has a um150 card. He is getting 900k speeds. We put the two laptops next to each other and reconnected a few times. The um150 keeps getting a EVDO connection and the kpc680 keeps getting a 1x. Both cards have the 40036.
Has anyone seen this and it meant the card went bad?
I am thinking about waiting for the next prl to come out before I do anything. |

| As a test I just REAPPLIED the 40036.prl to the KPC680 card. The card was reading 40036 before I did the apply. I am now getting an EVDO connection. Could Alltel have pushed something and corrupted my prl? |

| Can you tell me briefly how to apply the update? I have been getting a horrible connection for the last couple of days. |

This is how you flash a prl bin on your card when your provider is Alltel.
1. Get the 40036.prl
Google "answerman's license to rant prl" to find the page. I can not post links.
2. Bring up the Alltel QuickLink Mobile. Do NOT connect to Alltel.
3. CNTL D
4. Put in password 000000
5. Put in 000000 in activation field.
6. Put the complete path to where you placed your 40036.prl file in the prl field.
7. Click OK. |
