|
|
Hi All,
I've ordered a KR2 and waiting for it to arrive tomorrow. However, I'll be using this router along with a Verizon Kycoera KPC680 in an outdoor environment (NEMA enclosure) and would like to run the KR2 off PoE along the ethernet.
I was wondering if anyone knows what the DC requirements are for the Kyocera KR2 so I can get the proper voltage for the PoE splitter once it enters the enclosure so I can power the KR2. I couldn't find the information on the User Guide or Brochure PDF's either that or... I'm just blind...
Thanks for any help!
Cheers |

Got my Kyocera KR2 today!
Plugged in my Verizon Kyocera KPC680 and it's working like a charm over WiFi. What a huge difference over the KR1!
Found out the unit will take in 9V-12VDC, 18W. So that's anywhere from 9VDC @ 2A to 12VDC @ 1.5A.
Cheers,
Kermee
EDIT: WHOOPS! Looked at my old KR1... It's 5V @ 3A. You guys are right!

| Actually, KR1 required 5v and regulated the 12v input down. KR2 requires 9v at 2A. |

| No, the KR1 Car Power Adapter does not fit in nor power KR2 correctly. |

After using several routers in a mobile situation, I would highly recommend getting a high quality voltage regulator with surge protection built in.
I have one for my MBR-1000 (and some for my other devices). I think it cost a little less than $50 (including shipping). These guys can help you:
