|
|
I'm having a little issue setting the crt 350 up to use as a wired connection to my desktop. Let's see if I'm missing something.
My firmware is 2.1.0, PPP is enabled, ethernet port is set to LAN mode, and DHCP is enabled.
The rj45 cable is connected to both the router and ethernet port on my desktop but I cannot connect to the net. I'm a novice extreme when it comes to routes as I've always had dial up until came along What am I missing? |

Can you talk to http://192.168.0.1?
If so, then the issue is not the ethernet connection but something on the modem side.
If not, then what does it say when you do "ipconfig /all" (assuming you are using windows)? Are you sure you have your ethernet port set to DHCP on your computer? |

Unfortunately I cannot connect to http://192.168.0.1.
I'll take a look after I get home running ipconfig /all but truthfully I don't know what I'm looking for there and post back. I was wondering if it was desktop at first being configured wrong since I used to used ICS sharing a dial up connection of all things a couple of years back. Thanks for the reply. |

Here is what I get when I run ip config:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : martha
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Mixed
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 55-A1-73-EA-0F-00
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
Shouldn't that be another ip address instead of the routers ip addy? DHCP isn't enabled, just saw that reading my post :/ |

lol, I was about to say how can the IP address by the one of the router. You can try typing in another Ip address yourself and seeing if that works. Or, you may not have the computer setup to be giving an IP from the Router. |

| It's definetly not the router. I disabled wireless and hooked my laptop up w/ a wired connection w/o problems. After reinstalling the network card and reinstalling it should have worked as everything seemed to set right but no luck connecting. Who know's I'll fet it eventually. |

| you probably have your ics still on and the computer is acting as a router over your network card. i suppose you could uninstall and reinstall your network card if you can't get ics to turn off. once your disable sharing then you should be able to get dhcp back on and you would be good to go. |
