Hey folks,

I'm curious if anyone has ever had any luck getting a Verizon EVDO card to connect at Windows Boot, before the user logs in.

I am working on a project where this is one of the requirements and I'm not sure how one would accomplish this without the VZ Access Manager software.

If anyone has any experience with this or knows that it simply won't work, your feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

One option would be a router. Plug the Verizon card into an EVDO router and use a wired connection to the router. That should give you connectivity prior to Login and would allow you to run without the connection manager.

Since an EVDO device is simply a modem, can you set up a modem dial profile (#777) and then just have it connect during boot up with a script? I assume you don't need any credentials for the connection, otherwise you may have to write your own Gina (XP) or play with credential providers (Vista).
