Hi,

Has anyone got the Sprint EX720 working with newer than 1.7.1 versions of the firmware with the PHS300?

When I upgraded to 2.0.0 or 2.0.1, the EX720 stopped working, even with a hard reset. As soon as I downgraded back to 1.7.1 it worked fine again.

CradlePoint doesn't support this card, so they have made it clear that they won't help. 3GStore lists it as one of the cards they support, but they haven't responded.

I will try the new 2.1.0 tomorrow to see if it helps, but I am doubtful. It would be very interesting to know if someone else has gotten 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 working with EX720.

I would like to upgrade before I start getting the dreaded DNS poisoning messages.

Thx

Your Response is in your e-mail. The new firmware was just released today. Apparently something has changed with the version of firmware that we tested when approving the devices to function with a specific modem.

This would not be the first time that I have seen issues where a routers new firmware update eliminated a specific modem not to function any longer.

I will be in touch and will be responding to your e-mail once I have more results. Testing does take time and when you are running a support center with multiple resolutions taking place, it can get quite hectic. I am hoping to have more information for you by tomorrow.

You may find that it will be just like the Linksys router/firmware issues where you will simply need to use the firmware that the router works when using your specific modem. Sometimes it is function over features that you have to place higher on your priority list;-)

PS... Next time you are going to post and make it like 3Gstore does not respond to your e-mails, you may want to give the guys more than an 1 1/2 hours to reply especially after hours. We have families we go home to after work and can't always be "logged in" As you can see though, we do try;-)

Update: New 2.1.0 solved the problem.
